Pageantry has always been about elegance: the graceful walk, the confident smile, and the stunning outfits that make an audience hold its breath. But what if pageantry becomes more than beauty? What if it becomes a voice for the planet, too?

That’s the vision behind Miss Green Fashion, an impact-driven beauty pageant powered by DÓNÌ Africa, a sustainable fashion brand dedicated to transforming forgotten fabrics into wearable art. Unlike the regular beauty pageant, this one combines glamour and purpose, proving that style and sustainability can coexist beautifully.

Miss Green Fashion, founded by Doyinmola Paul-Oyewusi, is hosting its first edition on October 31, 2025.

Paul-Oyewusi is the creative force behind DÓNÌ Africa (formerly Dhoney.ng). It is a sustainable fashion brand that transforms textile scraps and pre-loved clothes into eco-conscious pieces through the indigenous Adire craft.

Through DÓNÌ Africa, Paul-Oyewusi champions circular fashion, turning waste into art and inspiring conscious living. With Miss Green Fashion, she extends this mission, using pageantry as a platform to promote sustainability and empower young women to lead change across Africa.

The journey of Miss Green Fashion began in July with an open call for young women aged 18–26, closing in mid-August. Applicants were selected for their passion for ethical fashion, commitment to environmental advocacy, and leadership potential.

After the screening and interviews in August, successful applicants advanced to the finalist stage, where they took part in free virtual masterclasses on leadership, impact creation, and sustainable fashion.

Now, the pageant enters its next phase, the Bootcamp (October 29–31, 2025), a three-day experience packed with mentorship, intensive training, and creative challenges leading up to the Grand Finale on October 31, 2025.

At the event, the finalists will showcase their creativity in a thrilling Upcycling Challenge, transforming textile waste into remarkable, durable outfits that reflect both artistry and purpose.

The Miss Green Fashion Queen will receive a ₦500,000 cash prize, while the first and second runners-up will be awarded ₦200,000 and ₦100,000, respectively. In addition to these prizes, all three winners will receive structured funding for their sustainability projects, international exposure, and cross-continental learning experiences in climate action, advanced sustainability, and leadership development.

The impact of Miss Green Fashion is amplified by the support of visionary partners driving change across fashion and culture. Diakwu Cloth exemplifies circular fashion at its best, transforming textile waste into handwoven, upcycled fabrics that preserve heritage while reducing waste.

Mezclar Outfit is transforming how fashion is consumed, promoting reselling, upcycling, wardrobe decluttering, and recycling education to inspire more mindful style choices. And Image & Style Matters, founded by Julie Baidoe-Ansah, brings over 19 years of image consultancy expertise, helping individuals and organisations express confidence, authenticity, and leadership through personal style.

Miss Green Fashion addresses two global challenges: the environmental impact of the fashion industry and the limited economic inclusion of women. It’s a space where young women are celebrated for their beauty and trained to lead, design, speak, and act for change.

This is your chance to witness transformation live, whether you’re a fashion lover, a sustainability advocate, or someone who believes in the power of youth-driven impact.

Get your ticket here and be part of the movement that’s weaving fashion, purpose, and the planet into one inspiring story.
